Phasetrum INC.

Phasetrum has developed a Phase Tuner for satellite communications and an Antenna-in-Package (AiP) architecture. Compared with traditional beamformers, the solution offers several advantages:

Simplified PCB design – The main PCB no longer requires antenna layers or PDN design, reducing board complexity from 14 layers to 6 layers, avoiding warpage issues and improving yield from 10% to 99%.

Lower power consumption – Beam direction is controlled using relative phase instead of absolute phase, reducing power consumption by 50% and simplifying calibration from 1,024 adjustments to just 10.

Reduced transmission loss – The AiP design integrates PA/LNA amplifier circuits with the antenna, lowering transmission loss and enabling satellite communication with only one-quarter of the array elements required by conventional systems.

Flexible configuration – Polarization can be set via software, supporting dual-beam operation without additional cost, making it easier to design multi-orbit satellite terminals.
