About the Company
Established in mid 2013, SIGONO is an independent game development studio founded by Brian Lee and Scott Chen. Brian and Scott have met during their time studying at Carnegie Mellon University, and have founded the studio after selling their Kinect game concept to a high-profile undisclosed company. Through their shared belief in games as a medium for connecting people, the duo began experimenting with numerous prototypes and genres, some of which earned features on the iOS App Store.
By 2015, with a growing team, and a few titles under its belt, the studio decided to return to its roots, and explore the medium further. Setting out with a new mission statement to create “unique, heartfelt experiences that bring people joy”, SIGONO released OPUS: The Day We Found Earth in 2016.
Since launch, OPUS' unconventional storytelling and gameplay has garnered over 3 million downloads, and received numerous recognitions, including a global Google Play Editors’ Choice, and official selection for Sense of Wonder Night at Tokyo Game Show, making it one of the studio’s biggest titles.
Following the success of OPUS: The Day We Found Earth, the studio released OPUS: Rocket of Whispers on September, 2017. The sequel reached 1 million downloads during its first week, and was featured on both Google Play and the App Store. With highly positive reviews across all platforms, the studio establishes OPUS as a series known for its heartwarming stories, and beautiful soundtrack.
In 2018, in addition to the series reaching a combined 9.5 million downloads, OPUS: Rocket of Whispers receives a score of 35 on Famitsu, becoming the first Taiwanese title to enter the Japanese publication’s coveted Platinum Hall of Fame.
In 2021, after 3 years of development, the studio launched its latest title, OPUS: Echo of Starsong, featuring the most ambitious storytelling in the series yet, while staying true to its core ideal of creating heartwarming experiences. The game has received numerous recognitions including the IGF and Webby Awards, and garnered high praise from media across the board, maintaining a 97% Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam and a Metascore of 90, and in 2024 was invited to be featured in the Spotlight Asia segment at the Cannes Film Festival.
In January 2024, SIGONO announced a collaboration with Shueisha Games, a new endeavor under Japan’s Shueisha Inc., to co-develop its latest installment, OPUS: Prism Peak. We welcome you to join us as we continue crafting world-class experiences that bring people joy.
