Chung Ho Textile, located on Nanjing West Road, represents a milestone in Taiwan’s textile history. Its Wuri factory originated from the Taiwan Spinning Co., Taiwan’s earliest automated cotton spinning mill. Taiwan’s textile industry developed gradually from 1907, with the first mechanical power loom established in 1919. During WWII, Japanese enterprises relocated equipment to Taiwan, leading to the creation of Taiwan Spinning Co. in 1942. Post-war, the government took over, renaming it Wuri Textile, which later privatized and became Chung Ho Textile.
